Abstract
We used synchrotron radiation to study the local behaviour of individual grains embedded in a polycrystal. First the existing methods have been extended for the first time to the case of SMA by taking into account the phase transformation. Then it was applied to determine the rotation of different grains during an in-situ tensile test. Results are discussed in comparison with the occurrence of the martensitic transformation in the grain and with respect to their mean orientation.
